Owners Testimonial Of The Above Home:

February 22, 2009

When my wife and I decided to build a log home in the Smokey Mountains in February of 2008, we searched and searched for floor plans of various log home package dealers that would best fit our needs.

Every time we found a floor plan we liked we had our hopes crushed after we learned the “Package Price” and installation price would not fit within our budget. Our research lasted several months with the same results every time. With our hopes fading of building a log home, we had almost given in to building a traditional “stick home”.

Late on a Friday night out of desperation I tried one last time to find a turnkey log home builder in the state Of Tennessee on a “Google” search. To my surprise Gillespie Log Homes website was near the top of the page. After reviewing the website we found a floor plan that my wife and I loved. I called the number on the web page the next day and left a message and to my surprise Wayne Gillespie called me back on Sunday Afternoon.

After Mr. Gillespie and I spoke that Sunday about the floor plans and a few modifications to the plans, it was exactly a week later on a Sunday afternoon that he called and gave me a verbal estimate of the log home and it was right in line with our budget price. The main reason that Mr. Gillespie could save us thousands of dollars on our log home is that he buys his logs directly from the supplier and cuts them to fit on-site instead of buying log “package deals” from the companies.

I was shocked that Mr. Gillespie called me exactly when he said he would because so many companies never returned my phone call.

It was shortly after the last phone call the Mr. Gillespie, my wife and I met at our property.

Once all the paper work had been signed and we were ready to begin construction, I researched the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce and found the Gillespie Construction was a member and it did not have any complaints against it as well as the State of Tennessee and found no complaints there as well.

Living in Florida and having our home built in Tennessee, at first was worrisome, but after seeing the workmanship and detail that Mr. Gillespie and his crew put into our home during the early construction phase all of our worries went away.

My wife and I made only a few visits up to the home during its construction and always came back in awe. Mr. Gillespie even gave us ideas during the building process to make our log home even more attractive.

During the final week of the construction my and I went to visit our new log home with the hopes of closing on the home at the same time. I had a chance to meet the building inspector for his final inspection for the Certificate of Occupancy and his first word when he opened the front door was “WOW” That said a lot to me because I knew he had inspected many log homes in our area and it said a lot about the way Mr. Gillespie builds log homes. Mr. Gillespie even went to our closing during that week!!

I realize that there are many stories about builders all across the nation, but I can honestly recommend Gillespie Log Home Builders as a reputable company who goes the extra mile in building a superior log home that pays attention to every detail.
