How much does it cost per square foot to build a log home?
This is the most common question we're asked, and the answer is that it depends on your personal taste and style. The log home shell is comparable to a brick home in price. The reason log home are generally more expensive is due to the level of amenities found in them. Do you sell pre-cut Log Home kits?
No, we use a cut on site method. We order all log materials directly from the mill. This method consistently saves our customers thousands of dollars over pre-cut kits, and ensures a higher level of quality.

Do you do dry in's
Yes, if you want to act as your own general contractor we will certainly work with you to get your home right. After the dry in we would still like to help you make sure everything is on track. Our doors will be open to anyone we have done a drying for. Beware though, Acting as your own contractor is not for the faint of heart.

Is a log home energy efficient?
A log wall is a solid thermal mass which works better than conventional walls at keeping hot or cold air from escaping.

What type of log is available for my log home?
We use white pine, or western red cedar.

What type of notch is used?
Butt and pass, Saddle notch Cuts, and Dovetail Cuts.

How long will it take to build my log home?
This can vary based upon several factors including, location, how complex the home design is, etc. We build on a 22 and 30 week build schedule depending a the homes design. We frequently exceed these timelines substantially. Keep in mind this does not include design time.

Are log homes maintenance free?
No, but they are relatively easy to maintain. Periodically, you will need to apply a good log home preservative which can protect your home anywhere from 3 to 5 years from the initial application. This maintenance schedule will vary depending upon several factors such as the house design, climate conditions, home site, amount of sun and wind exposure.
