Log Home Construction
Log Walls...
No kits. We order all logs directly from the mill and cut them on site. This process out performs kit packages every time in quality and price. We know that because we have built from almost every kit imaginable. A cut on site method will take roughly the same amount of time as building from a kit.
Framing...
Framing a log homes interior walls is similar to conventional framing.
Roofing...
Shingles or metal it's your call. If your taste is for a metal roof it will cost 255 dollars per Sq ( Sq = 100 square foot of roof ). If shingles are your chose if will cost 115 dollars per Sq.
Doors...
We use solid pine doors. You can choose between rustic or fine finish.
Windows...
Your home can have either vinyl or wood windows. Our vinyl windows in earth tone colors look great. Our wood windows are metal clad on the outside.
Interior Walls...
Your home can have as much wood on the inside as you like. You can keep as much of your home drywall as you want.
Flooring...
The most common flooring type found in log homes is yellow pine flooring. The picture on the right shows pine flooring used on the ground level. The picture on the left shows the thicker pine flooring used on second floor and loft areas. Note: The thicker pine flooring is used over a second floor log beam system.
